Should Women Get Plastic Surgery?

Updated: Apr 15

The 90’s was an era where doctors fought hard to dismantle, that was associated with that was a great plan mid sum sessions to provide plastic surgeries. In 1995, ASPRS unveiled "Plastic Surgeons Online," a subscription web service where plastic surgeons were able to post questions about difficult cases and receive responses from their peers around the world. It also hosted its first cyberspace surgical conference – on rhinoplasty, Botox are also included in this era. There is no doubt that when most people think of plastic surgery, they think of breast augmentations and Botox. And thanks partly to TikTok and other social media platforms where there are filters to show you what you might look like with lip injections or fillers, mainstream media is clouded with cosmetic procedures. But do not let the media and the public fool you, there is more than meets the eye in the world of plastic surgery. "Plastic surgery... comes from the Greek 'plastikos,' which means 'to mold’, and basically, plastic surgery... is surgery on the skin and all of its contents," said Shermak. The internet is full of newsworthy pieces on the latest dangers of Brazilian Butt lifts, stories of individuals who got lip injections and so much more. But the truth of the matter is that plastic surgeons encompass so much more than what you see online, a big part of that being reconstructive surgery. "Plastic surgery is comprised of reconstructive surgery and aesthetic surgery," said Shermak. "Reconstructive surgery includes reconstruction of traumatic injuries, of burns, reconstructing patients who have cancer removals and even hand surgery is a subspecialty of plastic surgery." Plastic Surgery has a major impact when it involves cosmetic surgery to feel more attractive and keep them satisfied, and elective because treated areas function properly but lack aesthetic appeal. When I think of my judgement, I look up historical information upon why a person should and based on I had a similar involvement of wanting plastic surgery. For instance, people who have an issue getting solved as much goes to appearing a certain way and want to enhance their appearance, it also includes wealth and having money to complete these procedures in the first place. What draws me onto wanting a new appearance is the fact that I grew up with being a male and wanting to be female. I would love to change just about everything from Botox, breast augmentation, nose job, and facial feminization surgery. This has an enormous impact of getting their confidence and opposing to hating how they look by birth. In the 90’s most did the decision of having surgery that is cosmetically used on their appearance, and those are the people wanting to make it moderate. For that matter I choose that in consideration that people who want and desire a much more distinctive look upon their life. They do include research about when people’s average age time frame for people actually act upon cosmetic procedures to enhance a certain part of body and face, which is 41 years old, and knowing that I am apart of only 9 years apart from that makes me want it even more. The desire comes from wanting what they call, “Perfect”. Many more the time they decide to do that, or I should add decision making. Just remembering the fact that it had more involvement from experienced plastic surgeons across the world and has improved on these procedures. This originally began in the year 1817. We are in the year 2025. Moderation is where we have seen or had to see more on the television screens, mobile devices, and hear about it in newspapers and magazines. They have consultations where they allow you to reassure about the opinion you decide that come from facts and how its possible of it being done correctly, and with those coming out of the one performing these to you or when you decide on doing so, when it comes down to the thoughts I say go for what is best for the body and recovery time and how painful it can be. Many people consume a working blue-collar class which limits you to have enough time to recover. Keep that in mind when you are ready for consolation. Pamphlets of information with detailed prices and doctors you can pick from and make you aware of all the sources that you question.

It is always important to keep in thought that birth defects are also a reason they would like to correct. The reconstruction of the face or body due to plastic surgery is important to those who want a normal appearance. For instance, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) may be done to improve how your eyes look. But it can also be done to fix eyelids that are drooping severely and blocking vision. Abnormal structures of the body may result from; injury, infection, developmental abnormalities, birth defects, disease, tumors. Any type of surgery carries some risk. People differ in their anatomy and how well they heal. Depending on the type of surgery you have and your overall health, some complications and risks linked to reconstructive plastic surgery may include:

  • Infection

  • Excessive bleeding

  • Bruising

  • Trouble with wound healing

  • Anesthesia problems

  • Surgery problems

Risk of complications may increase if you:

  • Smoke

  • Have connective-tissue damage

  • Have skin damage from radiation therapy

  • Have decreased circulation at the surgery site

  • Have HIV

  • Have a weakened immune system

  • Have a poor diet

There may be other risks depending on your specific medical condition. Be sure to discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider before the procedure. You may need to have several surgeries done in a lot of stages.

Addressing about changes due to pregnancy or weight loss is an important a woman decides to get reconstructive surgery and aesthetic surgery. Typical surgery back in the 90’s would have to be liposuction that they perform mainly because of weight gain from the time being pregnant for the aftermath of being confident with their bodies. Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure that removes excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body, helping to improve body contours and proportions. The most common type is tumescent liposuction, which involves injecting a solution to minimize pain and bleeding during the procedure. Different techniques include Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL) and Laser-Assisted Liposuction (LAL), each with its own benefits and considerations. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider to discuss potential risks and benefits before undergoing the procedure.

Discuss with your surgeon what you can expect on the day of the procedure or surgery. If you smoke, you may be asked to quit before surgery. Smoking can delay healing. Other things to consider are:

  • Can you drive yourself to and from surgery?

  • Will you need certain medical equipment at home after your surgery?

  • Will you need someone to help care for you at home?

  • Will you need someone to care for children or pets?

  • Will you need to be on a special diet before or after surgery?

  • How long until you can return to your full function?

Women ultimately have the time to decide if these typical thoughts, information, desires, needs, and confidence. Would they involve my opinion on me, yes, I think they should do plastic surgery if that is what they tend to bring it  up to their spouse (loved ones, marriages). My best opinion is consider it and have thoughts about it, but it is the fact that I am transgendered who wants and desires to change mostly everything in my range such as breast augmentation, facial feminization, and nose job which is called reconstructive surgery and aesthetic surgery. That is the main theory I have so please question yourselves if this to can be done with all certain timing, healing, and accommodation needed to getting the best results you desired and situation or daily living.
